About the Artist
Gaye Jurisich
Throughout her practice, Gaye reflects on critical elements of what she describes as the transience of life, human circumstances, and behaviours. Through these explorations, Gaye generates associations, many of which veil hidden agendas and complexities. These complexities allow Gaye to shift between abstract and figurative traditions, exploring how the use of colour can be used to investigate satire, parody, imitation, and vulnerability. Sometimes the intangible attributes of status, power, emotion, and exploitation also find a voice within the pieces.
